About us
Based in London, Rhythms of Life is a registered charity, dedicated to providing help and support for the vulnerable; homeless and rough sleepers. Founded in May 2008, Rhythms of Life provides free hot meals and daily food parcels to our beneficiaries all-year round.
Our Story
Rhythms of Life was founded in 2008 by Andrew Faris. A former rough-sleeper of 6 years, he strongly felt that his fellow friends needed help, and, most importantly, that this help could be provided more effectively by someone who deeply understood their daily struggles and needs.
Perseverance
As a result of Andrew’s perseverance and commitment, and with the invaluable help of our partners and volunteers, Rhythms of Life has been able to feed London’s rough-sleepers every day for the past 12 years.
What We Do
The food that we provide is donated by our charity partners, who include: Whole Foods, M&S, Waitrose & partners and Sainsbury’s. As firm believers in the motto ‘lead by example’, we strive to promote sustainability not only by collecting surplus ready prepared food but also by cooking from raw ingredients whenever possible in order to avoid food waste. To date, Rhythms of Life has prevented over 422 tonnes of food from being wasted.
Although our main aim is to provide healthy and nutritious meals, toiletries, clothing and sleeping bags to London’s homeless, we also offer classes on literacy, I.T. and life skills. We firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance to rebuild their lives.
Locations
We currently operate in Islington, Camden and Westminster, providing meals, clothes, toiletries, sleeping bags, and, most importantly, a friendly ear whenever needed. Our proactive approach allows us to tailor our services to the real needs of the homeless.
Our Office
We are currently based at 158-160 Pentonville Road, London N1 9JL, just a short walk from Kings Cross or Angel stations.
